Abel’s Animal Imitations

Some of Our Animal Stars

  • Peanut and Jelly

  • The BFG

He’s a big ball of fluffy goodness. That’s why he’s called the BFG. And, oh boy, does this bunny love a hug. You can’t miss him with his tiger stripes and large floppy ears.

  • JoJo and Coco

Talkative, social and silly. Our two gorgeous guinea pigs are both sisters. Originally adopted from an animal shelter, they now love life at the petting zoo.

  • Strawberry, Cherry and Chipmunk

This little family is curious, playful and friendly. Mom Strawberry loves socializing with new people. While her cheeky kiddies Cherry and Chipmunk are always playing hide and seek or burying themselves in the timothy grass in their cage.

  • Spartacus and Zoro

The living is slow and easy for these guys. Days spent munching on hibiscus flowers and grapes or getting their shells massaged. They don’t have teeth but watch out because they might mistake your finger for a carrot and bite down.

  • Foxy and Lucy

Say hello to our Lionhead bunny sisters. They are the sweetest girls who love to sit quietly on your lap. Lucy is curious and cuddly. Foxy is fun and spunky. They love hopping around their bunny condo chasing each other and playing tag.

  • Ashton

Our Chinchilla, Ashton is soft and energetic and is often mistaken for a ninja with his jumping acrobatics. Originally from an animal shelter, he’s now happily settled in his new home. Offer him raisons and you’ll have him eating out of your hand.

  • Pinto

Pinto is one of our bearded dragons. He loves to slurp up crickets and meal worms with his long tongue. He’s scaly and rough to touch, but he has a heart of gold. He love to just hang out on Abel’s shoulders. He has a lot of curiosity and loves to explore new environments.

Abel has such a sweet touch with not only the animals but with people too. It was truly a highlight for all of us. It was just so special. I’m left trying to brainstorm a reason to have another party in the future!

Abel Swanson

Ever since Abel was a child, he dreamed of working with Animals. Adopted at the age of seven, Abel had a tough start in life as an orphan in Burundi. When he moved to Santa Barbara he quickly made friends with all the pet animals. And, was soon asking his family to get more bunnies and ducks. He was also a fast learner. By his 9th birthday, he was caring for his first flock of chickens. Fast-forward a few years and Abel now runs this petting zoo—his dream job. All the animals in our petting zoo are Abel’s special pets and they’re lovingly cared for by our family in our backyard. When Abel’s not busy running party animal events, you’ll find him hanging out with his loyal sidekick Peanut, the duck.
